Mahira Zakiuddin ~ Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist (RSW, MSW)
Meet Mahira
I strive to address the growing gap between people’s internal emotional experiences and the support systems available to them, particularly in culturally diverse and high-pressure environments where mental health is often misunderstood, minimized, or stigmatized.
Many individuals, couples, and families struggle silently with anxiety, relational conflict, trauma, and identity challenges without access to safe, informed, and culturally responsive care.
My approach is to create therapeutic spaces that are both evidence-based and deeply human. I integrate modalities such as CBT, DBT, narrative therapy, and the Gottman Method, while grounding my work in cultural sensitivity and relational understanding.
I focus not only on symptom reduction but on helping clients understand patterns, rebuild connection, and develop sustainable emotional tools. The result is meaningful, lasting change, clients experience improved emotional regulation, stronger relationships, and a greater sense of clarity and self-agency.
Across my work in schools, private practice, and leadership roles, this has translated into more resilient individuals, healthier family systems, and communities that are better equipped to engage with mental health openly and constructively.
